In 1990, Purcell made a pivotal career move, resigning from Dillon Read to pursue new opportunities. This decision led to a diverse array of roles that broadened his already expansive skill set. From 1993 to 1995, he served as President and CEO of Gulf USA Corporation, steering the company through a challenging reorganization process. Simultaneously, he took on a directorship at Gulf Resources Pacific in New Zealand, one of the country’s largest commercial real estate companies.
Purcell’s experience extends to the boardroom, where he has served on multiple boards of directors. His advisory roles have included positions with medium-sized investment banks and participation in Governor Florio’s N.J. Economic Development Task Force.
