Shooting Stars NYC is a girls’ dance studio and performing arts school located in Upper Manhattan. Since 2000, they’ve trained many young girls and women between 6 and 18 years old to become talented and seasoned dancers, having won a collective 800+ trophies between them. Their dancers have appeared in projects and shows by big names like HBO, FOX, and America’s Got Talent, and they’ve even appeared on major halftime shows!
Shooting Stars offers a host of programs headed by their own Star Family, a group of talented teachers and choreographers with lots of experience under their belts. Some of their teachers include Coach Sara, a certified Barre instructor, Celine, a Brooklynette, and Coach LaToya, who’s danced all over the world!
The school offers training for their many different competitive dance teams. When a new dancing starlet joins, they’ll go through the Competition Master Class, where they’ll learn the fundamentals of competitive dance, from terminology to tricks and stage presence! From there, they can participate in a host of different teams, like the Hip Hop Squad and the Lyrical Contemporary Team.
In the Hip Hop Squad, dancers will learn advanced, striking choreography where they and their squad will perform stylish dances coupled with flashy stunts. In the Lyrical Contemporary Team, dancers will learn to work together while expressing their own creativity as they combine technique and emotional moves to wow audiences.
